Our Vision and Our Values

Our school vision, "Inspiring Everyone to Let Their Light Shine," is inspired by Matthew 5:14-16. Created in collaboration with our children, staff, parents and governors, it portrays what we set out to achieve every day in school by creating the best school experience possible for our community and enabling everyone to shine.

Our School Values

At the heart of our school is a commitment to fostering a vibrant, supportive, and compassionate community, guided by our Christian values: Caring, Equality, Forgiveness, and Thankfulness. These are not just words on a page; they are the principles that shape the daily life and spirit of our entire school family.

Each of our values are underpinned by the Bible and the teachings of Jesus.

The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself'. There is no other commandment greater than these
(Mark 12:31)

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us'
Matt 6.12, Lk 11.4

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my father I have made known to you.
(John 15:15)

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your live in him... overflowing with thankfullness.
(Colossians 2:6-7)

How Our Values Impact Our Day

For Our Children: Our focus on Caring ensures every child feels safe, supported, and ready to learn, encouraging them to show kindness to all.  The value of Equality is woven into our curriculum and interactions, teaching children to respect differences and understand that everyone has an equal voice and opportunity. Learning about Forgiveness helps them navigate disagreements, fostering restorative relationships and emotional growth. Finally, Thankfulness encourages an appreciative outlook, celebrating achievements and recognising the contributions of others.

For Our Staff: These values underpin a respectful and collaborative work environment. Caring extends to mutual support among colleagues, ensuring well-being. Equality guarantees fair practice and professional opportunity for all. Forgiveness creates a healthy space for learning from mistakes, while Thankfulness promotes a culture where hard work and dedication are recognised and appreciated.

For Our Wider Community: We believe our values extend beyond the school gates. By modelling Caring and Thankfulness, we actively engage with our community and local initiatives. Our commitment to Equality ensures we are an inclusive school for all families, and the spirit of Forgiveness promotes strong, resilient partnerships with parents and community members, grounded in mutual understanding and respect.

In everything we do - from lessons and Collective Worship to playtime and community events - these four values drive us forward, ensuring our school remains a place where everyone can thrive.
